New Club Officers and a new member were installed at a simple, elegant in-person outdoor ceremony on 19 August at the home of President Bina. Ten of our Club members were joined by District Governor Rev. Dr. J. Loren Russell, and Past Governors, Martin Schulman, Mary Shackleton, and Mahbub Ahmad, as well as District Governor-Elect Syed Alirahi and District Governor Nominee Garrett Capobianco.
DG Loren administered the oath of Office to President Bina and her team of 2023-24 Club Officers, among them were Immediate Past President Aziz Ahmad, President-Elect Jenny Huang, Secretary Mahmood Menon, Treasurer Yeasin Arafat, International Director Ashfaque Salim, and Directors Shimul Ismail, Tarin Anwar, and Lubna Anwar.
A highlight of the event was the DG inducting our new member Shireen Shams, flanked by the new member's sponsor, Shimul Ismail. Another new Member, our youngest so far - Nahian Ehtesham will be inducted at a future ceremony.
President Bina thanked Past President Aziz for his service to the Club, particularly for organizing the Rotary Day of Service project. She highlighted the other projects undertaken by the Club since its inception. DG Loren in welcoming the new Club Leadership team emphasized his theme for the year "We, not me" saying,Club activities are team efforts with everyone contributing their time, effort and expertise. He said the district had performed very well in terms of membership and service activities, and thanked all members for their continuing efforts in assisting needy humanity.
Following the ceremony all attendees moved indoors for a sumptuous Dinner and fellowship that lasted a few hours.
